This mainstay's "fantastic" location "close to the ferry" and "right on the waterfront" means guests can watch "ships come into port" if they land a "large" room with of a view of Strait Juan De Fuca, rather than one that "overlooks the parking lot"; the "restaurant is overpriced and underwhelming" but for most, the "gorgeous" vista "makes up for it", as does a staff that's "friendly and helpful."

The hotel was old and needs a remodel.
The super 8 down the road is newer and cleaner. The interior is dated back to the 70's and smelled bad. There was trash in the parking lot along with a syringe with needles. The view from the hotel was breath taking.
I felt that the room service was pricey for what you got.
I really enjoyed the view from this hotel. My room was warm and inviting. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was big and okay. The restaurant was great and awesome.
Gave me a room that is not on water front, that wasn't what I had expected.
The hotel doesn't have a lobby, the best room are those that face the waterfront. Others are in a building behind the main one that looks like a motel.

carpets were dirty, air conditioner didn't work, bugs in the bathtub, pool had transients walking aorund it
This was a horrible place to stay. Generally, the Red Lion is a moderate hotel. This was such a disappointment. I could not believe that the carpets were filthy, the air conditioner was broken, there were bugs it the bathtub, and there were homeless people walking about the pool, exposing themselves.
